Take the SAT untill you get atleast a 700 in math. I am convinced that it is the thing that the admissions staff looks at.

Sell your soul to your schoolworkJan 14 2010Aerospace Engineering
Sell your soul to your schoolwork. Don't bother with clubs and extra curricular stuffs, that doesn't matter as much. Also, be sure to do well in Math/science sections of ACT/SAT. English doesn't matter as long as you're literate.

SAT math scoreJan 03 2010Civil Engineering
SAT math score. (800) Low verbal score (550). A's in all my math and science courses. I typically had Straight A's in high school because I would study old course work and work with the top of my class which is my study method at tech. I was also part of National Honors Society and the treasurer for it as well. I did play lacrosse for two years. Had to sit out one because of transfer eligibility. Schools typically care more about earned numbers and the awards that go along with them. Clubs are meaningless. Join them if you actually enjoy them. I liked to party in high school

I was initially deferred because of my lack of involvement in high school. If you wanna go to GT, get a high SAT?ACT score, take AP classes, and get involved in leadership positions.

I had competitive ACT and SAT test scoresDec 15 2009Electrical Engineering
I had competitive ACT and SAT test scores. I was also active in school(football team, scholastic teams, honor society, etc,). I also had a good GPA and was enrolled in the highest program in my school(International Baccalaureate Program). They want to see that you were involved, good test scores, high gpa, and took the highest level of course work available for your high school.
